India observes Engineer's Day on September 15

  India observes Engineer's Day on September 15 in honour of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. His contribution to the field of engineering is unparalleled. Born on September 15, 1860, Visvesvaraya dedicated nearly 102 year of his life in service of the nation, it is only befitting we celebrate him. Visvesvaraya was brought up in a Telugu Brahmin family and studied in a Kannada medium primary school in Chikkaballapur. After he completed hus bachelors degree, he decided he wanted to be an engineer and thus enrolled for Civil engineering course at College of Engineering. Sir Mokshagundam Vishveshwarayya ,   (15 September 1860/12 April 1962)  often referred by his initials,  MV , was the first Indian  civil engineer , statesman  and the 19th  Diwan of Mysore , serving from 1912 to 1918.  He started his primary education in Bangalore, received his BSc degree from the University of Madras, and then DCE ( Diploma in Civil Engineering)  from the University of Bombay through its affiliated instit

UGC NET Admit Card 2022

  University Grants Commission, National Eligibility Test or  UGC NET Admit Card  2022 will be releasing soon for the upcoming Phase 2 of the exam. Today - September 13, 2022,  National Testing Agency ,  NTA  will be releasing the  UGC NET  exam city slips online. Once released, candidates will be able to download their UGC NET Phase 2 exam city slips from the official website -  ugcnet.nta.nic.in . UGC NET Admit Card 2022 will be releasing on September 16, 2022 as per the official notice released by NTA. Candidates are reminded that just like every other NTA exam, even for this one, the UGC NET Exam City slips will be released and are an important document.

“Ted Lasso” joins ranks of the most celebrated comedies in history with back-to-back Emmy wins

  Tonight at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, the beloved Apple TV+ hit series “Ted Lasso” joined the ranks of comedy legends with its win for Outstanding Comedy Series for its first and second seasons, becoming only the eighth series in the genre in 74 years of Emmy history to do so. National Cinema Day will be held on 23 September

  Over 4,000 screens at multiplexes from across the country, including PVR, INOX, Cinepolis, Carnival, and Delite, have teamed up to offer a 'celebratory admission price' of ₹75 to mark National Cinema Day. In an official notification, the MIA said that on request from various stakeholders and in order to maximize participation, the  National Cinema Day  will now be held on 23 September. It seems that much like the US, theatres in India too is aiming towards creating a National Cinema Day where movie lovers will get to watch their favourite films in amazingly slashed prices on the big screen. For the unversed, earlier this month, the US organised for a National Cinema Day on September 3, where every moviegoer had to pay only $3 to enjoy films on the big screen. The one-day nationwide promotion was offered on more than 30,000 screens in more than 3,000 theaters, including the major chains of AMC and Regal Cinemas.
